The light,
explained.
Four clinically studied wavelengths. 488 high output LEDs. Six treatment modes. Published irradiance at every setting. Everything you need to know about how Sonna works, and why it works differently.
Four wavelengths.
Four distinct jobs.
Each wavelength reaches a different depth of the skin and triggers a different cellular response. Sonna uses all four, individually and in combination, across six treatment modes.
Collagen & tone
Penetrates the dermis, the layer of skin where collagen and elastin are produced. Stimulates fibroblast activity, the cells responsible for building the structural proteins that keep skin firm.
The wavelength most associated with visible anti ageing results in peer reviewed clinical literature.
Firmness & repair
Reaches deeper than red light, into the subcutaneous layer. Supports tissue repair and regeneration at a cellular level, and enhances the results of the other wavelengths when layered.
Pairs with red light in anti ageing and repair modes.
Clarity
Targets the surface and upper layers of the skin. Works to manage the bacteria associated with breakouts and supports oil balance without stripping or drying.
Used in the anti acne mode and the evening mode.
Radiance & calm
Most LED masks use three wavelengths. Sonna uses four. Yellow adds the calming, radiance building layer most devices leave out. Soothes redness, supports an even skin tone, and brings visible luminosity.
Works across rejuvenation, morning and evening modes.
Six modes.
Measured irradiance.
Irradiance is the measure of light energy delivered to the skin per square centimetre. It determines whether the light is strong enough to reach the cells and trigger a response. Most LED mask brands don't publish these numbers. We do.
Irradiance measured at device surface. Sessions of ten minutes recommended daily.
How it works.
At a cellular level.
Light reaches the cell.
Each wavelength penetrates skin to a specific depth. Red reaches the dermis. Near infrared reaches the subcutaneous layer. Blue stays at the surface. Yellow works across the upper layers.
Cells absorb and respond.
Light energy is absorbed by photoreceptors in skin cells. This activates cellular processes including collagen production, circulation, and repair. The process is called photobiomodulation.
Results build over time.
Visible changes in radiance and tone typically appear within a few weeks. Changes in firmness and texture build over eight to twelve weeks as collagen response is supported. Consistency is the single most important factor.

What to expect.
And when.
First shift.
Skin looks calmer. Tone more even. Most people notice a subtle shift in radiance before anything else.
Visible change.
Texture refines. Breakouts reduce. Fine lines begin to soften. Skin feels more resilient under makeup and actives.
The difference.
Collagen response is most visible here. Firmness, tone, and clarity compound. This is the version most people book facials to find.
Results are cumulative and depend on consistent daily use. Individual response varies with skin type, age, and routine. The single best predictor of results is consistency.
The science is only useful if you use it.
Ten minutes a day. Consistently.
